Weekly round-up from your local Neighbourhood Team

Weekly round-up from your local Neighbourhood Team

Hello everyone,

This is a message from St Michael’s Team 1 to update you on what your local officers have been doing this week.

The St Michael’s Neighbourhood Team has undertaken proactive actions to address the Anti Social Behaviour and Drug use within the Lady Herbert’s Gardens, Priory Gardens/ and Priory Place. High visibility and plain clothes patrols were completed in cooperation with other departments within the West Midlands Police and Community Wardens from Coventry City Council. Thanks to these efforts, we were able to disrupt individuals and seize Class B drugs.

During the period coming up to the Bonfire Night, we will continue with heightened patrols, and officers will be deployed to all areas within the Coventry City Centre to ensure safety of all members of public, residents and both retail and hospitality premises. The use of fireworks is strictly prohibited by unlicenced individuals in public, and it is illegal for under 18s to be in possession of fireworks. Our officers will be conducting targeted patrols to ensure that there are no fireworks being used in the City Centre. For guidance on the use of fireworks please see the West Midlands Police website: Fireworks | West Midlands Police. If you see anyone using fireworks improperly or any anti-social behaviour and are concerned, do not hesitate to get in touch by dialling 999 in an emergency, 101 for non-emergencies or our online reporting system Report | West Midlands Police.

Your local neighbourhood officers have also got some fantastic results in dealing with retail crimes. Thanks to PC LLOYD, an offender has been charged with 6 offences and received a custodial sentence of 20 weeks. Two prolific offenders were apprehended within the City Centre, breaching their Criminal Behaviour Orders, and were charged with these offences.
